The Bengaluru Bulls have officially named Yogesh Dahiya<\/strong> as their new captain for the rest of Pro Kabaddi League Season 12 (PKL 12)<\/a><\/strong> matches. The announcement was made just before their much-needed victory over the Patna Pirates<\/strong> in Match 17<\/strong> at the Vishwanadh Sports Club in Vizag on September 7, 2025<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While this leadership change brought new energy to the team, it also raised one burning question among fans \u2013 what happened to former captain Ankush Rathi?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Shift in Leadership: From Ankush to Yogesh<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The Bengaluru Bulls<\/a> started their PKL 12 campaign under the leadership of Ankush Rathi<\/strong>, who captained the team in the first two matches. Unfortunately, both outings ended in defeats \u2014 first a close tie-breaker loss to Puneri Paltan<\/strong> (32-32 in regulation, 4-6 in tie-breaker), followed by a 41-34 loss to Dabang Delhi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things took a surprising turn in the third match against U Mumba<\/strong> on September 5<\/strong>, where vice-captain Akash Shinde<\/strong> was given the captain’s armband. Come Match 17 against Patna Pirates, a new name was at the helm \u2014 Yogesh Dahiya<\/strong>, the team’s high-profile defensive signing. The Bulls not only looked sharper but also managed to grab their first win of the season<\/strong> under his captaincy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
